And So The Adventure Begins, but first let’s Celebrate♥
Letting go and saying hello to the future are the feelings your Grad is starting to experience, it’s the next chapter of life.
If your the parent you are starting to feel all the emotions of letting go of your Grad as you start to plan the Graduation Party and bust out the tissues because this is going to be an emotional ride.
Rather if you are planning a High School Grad, College Grad or a Preschool Graduation, it’s all about Celebrating the Grads accomplishments with family and friends. I have not had the chance to plan a high school or college grad party yet, those days will come soon♥ but I have attended plenty Celebrations to be able to help you along the way.
Now to decide what kind of feeling you want to have for your Celebration is the key to begin planning. I describe it as feeling because the Feel is a huge part in planning a Celebration.
Do you want you want your celebration to feel formal, casual or have an open house style? How much work do you want to do? I mean do you want to be cooking and cleaning all day or do you want to enjoy your Celebration? Host it at home or at a venue? How many guests do you want to entertain? How do you want to show off your Grad? How much money do you want to spend? How do you want your Celebration to look? Do you want your Grad to feel that this is the best party they have ever attended and they have felt the Love from friends and family, besides it’s all about the Grad♥
My favorite Graduation Celebrations to attend are the Celebrations that are open house style, mingling with friends and family as you graze amazing finger foods and of course going back in time and viewing all the pictures and special accomplishments of the Grad makes me giddy. I love to feel that I am a part of such a special day and get to experience it.
To host it at home or at a venue? You can find many “Venues” in your area, check out restaurants with banquet facilities. Check out your local parks to see if they have facilities to rent, do you have a friend or family that has an amazing home? Ask to borrow it, my favorite thing to do. Plan the Celebration at your home.
Food & Beverage, my favorite is Grazing Tables I am talking finger food fun. Depending on your time of the event will also help you determine your food and beverages. If you are planning a 5’oclock Celebration then yes you will need to provide more of a filling foods for your guests. Take your Grazing Stations up a notch with chicken skewers, salads, or bbq. Don’t want too cook? Amen to that get it catered♥ Hire a Catering Company to cook and set it all up for you that’s money well spent. Beg one of your friends or family that has an amazing talent and loves to cook have them “cater” your event and take care of the details. This will allow you to enjoy your celebration as well. Also money well spent♥ Let Costco or your local Grocery Store Prep all your Food and order party platters and hire a Friend or Family to be your food and beverage host. Desserts? What Celebration doesn’t have Cake right? Order or make a Grad Cake, Cupcake Tower or create a grazing dessert bar♥ What to serve for beverages? Now that’s a decision right there♥ Depending on your feeling of your Celebration should help you determine the beverages. I think any Celebration always calls for Bubbles, Beer & Wine but depending on your time, and guests offering some adult beverages is always a great idea. Keep it low key or have a bar area. Otherwise your Beverage Bar should consist of water, party punch, lemonade or sodas.
Décor, you want your guests to feel like they are at a Grad Party. Grad Caps, 2017, school colors, or my favorite tribute to the grad décor. I love to see pictures and accomplishments of the grad. I love the Diy party décor and this is the perfect party to get crafty. Who doesn’t ♥ to show off your kid and this is the time to do it. Also don’t forget to have a special area where guests can leave cards and having the guests address a envelope to a Thank You Card is a fantastic help.
Any Celebration you plan usually requires a lot of planning, but as the host you want to be able to enjoy the party as well. I know we all like to think we can do it all, and there is plenty of time but please do me a favor and ask for as much help as possible because you are going to need it♥
Happy Planning & Congrats to your Grad♥
