Let’s Make Some Of My Dad’s Mexi Dogs♥
My Dad has this wonderful hobby of making homemade sausages, hot dogs, brats, polish dogs and so much more. Since it’s Fathers Day I am going to share with you his Mexi Dogs.
Why a Mexi Dog, well when you create the recipe you get to name it and besides he eats everything in a Tortilla♥ Mexi Dogs are usually always the meal that he serves while he fishes and it has just become how we eat his polish dogs now.
Let’s start with his homemade Cheddar Polish Dog.
I just take these right out of the package and place them on the BBQ. I am sure you can boil or pan fry before, but right to the BBQ for me.
While you have the polish dogs cooking, I like to add sautéed onions to the mix. So slice a sweet onion with some olive oil, salt & pepper and a dash of garlic salt and your favorite steak seasonings for a little added flavor and saute.
To make this a Mexi Dog, instead of using a hot dog bun, wrap your polish dog in a Tortilla. When your Polish dogs are ready, heat up some tortillas. Now you can add condiments to your Mexi Dog if you like, add jalepeno, salsa whatever you like♥
Now to serve your guests, try switching it up and serving your mexi dogs in these super fun Deli Serving Baskets.
I love using Deli Baskets, they are easy clean up and they create a element of surprise for your guests.
